Artist Statement
I am best known for his mobiles depicting scenes of lynched slaves made from very distinctive materials such as twine, yarn, sticks, paper towels, news paper, cardboard, fabric, frames, and wood. I create my work by tying, twisting, wrapping, cutting, taping and lacing. The work deals with the haunting reality of slavery and it’s effects in today’s society , along with the choice of living in disbelief of slavery - and the darkness of mankind.
