ARTIST STATEMENT

Through embroidery, painting, and digital media, my work examines the nuanced relationships between memory, femininity, and perception. I explore the quiet tensions in maternal relationships, the interplay between tenderness and distance, and the complex emotions surrounding the female body. My embroidered portraits reframe family snapshots, layering thread as both an act of devotion and revision, while paintings challenge the boundaries between the familiar and the unsettling. By weaving together traditional and digital techniques, I invite viewers to reconsider their assumptions about intimacy, inheritance, and the shifting nature of self-portraits.
